Are WiFi and Broadband the same thing?
WiFi isn't different to broadband. It is the most popular technology used to connect to your broadband. It enables you to connect multiple wireless devices at any one time to your wireless router.
You are probably using WiFi somewhere in your home to connect a device to the internet. Maybe it's your TV or smartphone? All the deals you will find on Savely are 'wireless' broadband.
Which Broadband Provider has the best wireless router?
Most devices now rely on a wireless internet connection, so your router must deliver solid wireless performance. Luckily wireless technology has evolved rapidly over recent years due to its demand. However, not all broadband provider routers offer the same experience and reliability. You can expect different performance levels from each, so which ones are the best?
Sky Broadband Hub
Regardless of which deal you choose with Sky Broadband, you will receive the Sky Broadband Hub. Aesthetically it looks great, and it performs great too.
The Sky Broadband Hub uses eight WiFi antennas to optimise its WI-FI performance and coverage, allowing it to support up to 64 simultaneously connected devices, which will be enough even for the largest households.
Sky's Broadband Hub can support speeds up to 1Gbps, which is excellent as we are seeing a lot of providers, including Sky offering Full Fibre Broadband.
Virgin Media Hub 3 & 4
Depending on which deal you choose with Virgin Media will determine the router you get. Both routers have many similarities and are great at providing a stable and consistent internet connection for your wired and wireless devices.
Your Virgin Media Hub will automatically share your WiFi evenly across your connected devices. As a bonus, the devices connected furthest away will also get a signal boost. Your Hub will instantly connect your devices to the correct WiFi channel and frequency for optimal performance.
You can expect fantastic WiFi performance from the Virgin Media Hub; however, if you want a wired connection for some of your devices, the Hub 3 has 4-gigabit ethernet cable ports.
The Virgin Media Hub 4 has been built specifically for its Gig1 Fibre Broadband. The Hub shares the same great benefits as the Hub 3, such as automatic WiFi channel selection and frequency selection. However, it's been built to support speeds of 1Gbps, so you can get the most from your Gig1 Fibre!
BT Smart Hub 2
You will only receive BT's Smart Hub 2 if you sign-up for one of their Fibre deals. Otherwise, you will receive the BT Home Hub 4.
BT's Smart Hub 2 uses the latest wireless technology (802.11ac) and seven optimally positioned antennas to deliver exceptional WiFi speeds and stability. Like Virgin Media Hub 3, the Smart Hub also has a 'Smart Channel Selection' feature where your devices will automatically connect to the most optimal channel and frequency.
The BT Smart Hub 2 will integrate seamlessly with BT's Complete WiFi solution. Complete WiFi delivers a stable WiFi connection to rooms in your home that, without it, wouldn't have stable WiFi.
TalkTalk WiFi Hub
If you take out Fibre 35 or Fibre 65 offerings from TalkTalk, you'll receive TalkTalk's WiFi Hub Black as part of your installation process. If you choose one of TalkTalk's Ultrafast services (Fibre 150, Fibre 500, Ultrafast Fibre Optic), you'll receive the WiFi Hub.
Although both routers share the same name and almost the same design, there's one key difference. Each router has been built to deliver the full speeds of your chosen service. Both WiFi Hubs look great and have excellent specifications, so if you're looking for a value broadband provider who can deliver you a robust, reliable router, look no further.
Both routers come with WiFi (802.11ac), seven antennas for fantastic WiFi coverage and 'Smart Channel Selection', where your devices automatically connect to the optimal channel and frequency. You'll also get 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing you to connect up to 4 wired devices.
